I'm a lucky gal!

I got to spend Saturday with two of the funniest, most handsome, and sweetest guys I've ever met. We ate lunch outside, took a drive through the country, walked around a lovely park, and stopped at yard sales and a thrift shop. There may have also been some accidents related to a swallowed penny and a mysterious puddle on the floor of The Goodwill, but overall, it was a really great day!

My Birthday Boy

My sweet Oscar turned three on Sunday and we had a small celebration at home, complete with balloons and party hats, cupcakes, a special dump truck cake that Oscar and my mother made together, and visits from grandparents.  He's growing so quickly and is such a neat little guy.  Sure he has his days, but he's generally happy and easygoing.  He's also one of the silliest people I know!

All Aboard!

On Saturday we took the boys for a train ride in Walkersville, MD, as part of Oscar's birthday celebration.  I love trains and it makes my heart really happy that my boys share that love.  Now this was no regular train ride.  It was a special Easter Bunny train!  The Easter Bunny walked through the cars waving and posing for pictures (My boys kept their distance!) and handing out plastic eggs with a little toy inside.  After the ride, we checked out some of the old train cars and enjoyed cookies in the train's museum.  It was a really lovely time and I'm sure we will do it again!  You can find more info about the Walkersville Southern Railroad here.

I was glad we boarded early, so I could get a good shot of the sweet old train car.

The birthday boy!

Heck yeah, everyone actually looked at the camera for once!

Their excitement was so cute!

Donnie had no idea of the terror lurking behind him!

Happy New Year!

Hey there!  I hope everyone's year is off to a good start!  I know I'm a little late with the new year's wishes, but better late than never, right?  I had a great New Year's Eve at home with my family, which is just how I like it.  I've never really been into going out on New Years Eve or doing much of anything, outside of eating some good food and trying to stay up until midnight.  I accomplished both of those things this time around.  We had cheese fondue and meatballs for dinner and after everyone went to bed, Donnie and I watched reruns of  Doctor Who and Portlandia and enjoyed some chocolate fondue.  On a related note, toddlers with fondue forks are both hilarious and terrifying!

Backseat Dance Party!

This week's playlist is a short one.  When the boys and I are driving home each day, I usually have my iPod on shuffle.  Oscar is pretty vocal about his dislike of darn near every song that comes on, but there are a few that he likes to listen to repeatedly.  Both boys clap their hands, dance, and try to sing along to these songs.  Well, Ben kind of just yells along really.  For a long time, Oscar only wanted to hear Wonderlust King, which he calls the da da dat song, but we've started to slowly add some songs.  Thank goodness!  Here's what we are currently listening to on our drive home each day.  Let's hope we can add to this playlist soon!

Mostly Lazy Days

The boys and I spent a lot of time in our pajamas this past week.  Between the bad weather and being sick, I managed to only work part of one day out of the entire week.  We did a lot of playing, mostly with trains, but also with Play-Doh.  I could set up train tracks all day long!  There was a ton of silliness and jumping from the coffee table to the sofa (Mama doesn't actually approve!) and we even managed to get dressed for a quick toy store and frozen yogurt run.  I tried to take a lot of pictures, but my little guys don't really stay put for long, so most of my photos are blurry.  Don't these kids know I have a blog to update?!  On Sunday, I did actually get dressed and went to the loveliest baby shower, but I pretty much put my pajamas on as soon as I got home!  It's good to have some lazy pajama days sometimes, isn't it?

I know Oscar looks freaked out, but he's just giving some love to his new Caillou toy!
